February Meeting Recap
February 15, 2023
Featured Speaker: Alex Witham, General Sales Manager, Porsche Delaware
Two Stones Pub – Middletown, DE
We had a great meeting at Two Stones Pub on February 15th. With the back room all to ourselves, there was good space for the 20+ folks there including both newer and longer-term members. Lisa, our club president, kicked things off by reminding us of some of the fun and cool things coming up for our members to get involved in. Here’s a short list of some of what will be happening:
2/26 – Pop up at the Creamery in Kennett Square starting at 3pm.
3/8 – Dinner meeting at Goobers diner and car collection tour starting at 6pm.
4/15 - Rally in Lewes Delaware starting, finishing and benefitting the Children's Beach House.
4/29 - Swap meet in Carlisle, PA. Jon Walton will be leading a group drive to the event.
5/ 21 – Drive to Simeone Museum, Philadelphia – details to follow.
(Space/seats for some events may be limited so please always check in early if you would like to attend.)
Alex Witham from Porsche Delaware gave an excellent talk on the Porsche car market from the perspective of Porsche Delaware, Delaware’s only Porsche dealer. Bottom line is that while Porsche dealers have generally been doing pretty well in recent years, getting inventory of new cars remains very challenging. If you are looking for a base Macan or Cayenne, you can get them more easily. If you are looking to purchase one of the higher end Porsche sports cars we all love so much, it is probably a good idea to get on the wait list sooner rather than later.
Alex also shared with us that the electrification in the Porsche world is here. We can expect to see the electric Boxster and Cayman coming soon. The new high-end electric Macan (Macan EV), scheduled for 2024 release, looks to be a powerful beast. All in all, Alex really provided some good perspective, and Porsche Delaware remains an important part of our local Porsche community.
Our meetings are held typically the second Wednesday of each month and are open to all club members. Space sometimes is limited so RSVP is helpful. Check our club calendar, Facebook and Instagram pages for updates. For questions or information please reach out to Lisa (president@delawarepca.org) or Matt (vicepresident@delawarepca.org).
We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.
